What cookies MentionFox uses and why
Last updated: April 2026
MentionFox uses a minimal cookie approach. We use only the cookies strictly necessary for the service to function. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing trackers of any kind.
Because we only use essential cookies, we do not display a cookie consent banner. Under GDPR Article 5(3) and the ePrivacy Directive, strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent requirements.
| Cookie / Storage | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-*-auth-token | Supabase authentication session. Keeps you logged in across pages and browser sessions. | Essential (localStorage) | Until logout or token expiry |
sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | PKCE code verifier for secure OAuth authentication flows. | Essential (localStorage) | Temporary (during auth flow only) |
These are stored in your browser's localStorage, not as traditional HTTP cookies. They are accessible only by MentionFox and cannot be read by any other website.
We use Umami, a privacy-friendly, open-source analytics tool. Umami is notable because it:
The only third-party service that may set cookies when you use MentionFox is Stripe (our payment processor), and only when you interact with payment forms. Stripe sets cookies necessary for fraud prevention and payment processing. See Stripe's cookie policy for details.
You can clear MentionFox's localStorage data at any time through your browser's developer tools or settings. Note that clearing authentication tokens will log you out of MentionFox.
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies and localStorage through their privacy settings. Refer to your browser's documentation for instructions.
