Creating Clips
Video clips turn static mention text into eye-catching, shareable social proof. Here is how to create one from start to finish.
Step 1: Select a Mention
You can create a clip from any mention in your feed. Look for positive mentions where someone praises your product, recommends it, or describes a success story. Click the video icon on the mention card, or go to Content Tools > Video Creator and select mentions from there.
Step 2: Choose a Template
MentionFox offers several video templates designed for different use cases:
- Testimonial Spotlight -- highlights a single quote with the author's name and platform. Best for landing pages.
- Mention Montage -- combines 3-5 mentions into a scrolling sequence. Great for social media posts showing volume of praise.
- Before/After -- pairs a negative competitor mention with a positive mention about your product. Effective for competitive positioning.
- Stats Overlay -- shows mention counts, sentiment breakdown, and key quotes over an animated background. Ideal for investor decks and reports.
Step 3: Customize Branding
Each template can be branded with your colors and logo:
- Logo -- upload your company logo or use the one from your company profile.
- Colors -- set primary and secondary brand colors. The template adapts text, backgrounds, and accent elements.
- Font -- choose from a curated set of web-safe fonts.
- Aspect ratio -- select 16:9 (YouTube, websites), 1:1 (Instagram, LinkedIn), or 9:16 (Stories, Reels, TikTok).
Step 4: Edit the Text
The mention text is pre-filled, but you can edit it for clarity or brevity. Keep clips short -- 15 to 30 seconds is the sweet spot for social engagement. You can also add a headline or call-to-action text that appears at the end of the clip.
Tip: Shorter clips perform better on social media. If the original mention is long, excerpt the most impactful sentence. You can always link to the full conversation.
Step 5: Preview and Generate
Click Preview to see a real-time render of your clip. Make adjustments until you are happy, then click Generate. The video renders in the cloud and is ready to download within a minute. You will receive a notification when it is done.
Clip Library
All generated clips are saved in your clip library under Content Tools > Video Clips. You can re-download, re-edit, or delete old clips at any time.
