After your first login, MentionFox launches a 5-step onboarding wizard that configures your workspace. Completing all steps ensures your scans, enrichment, and outreach work correctly from day one.
Enter your company name and website URL. MentionFox uses AI-powered brand enrichment to automatically pull your logo, industry, description, and social links. Review the results and make corrections if needed. This profile powers personalized outreach tokens later.
A "client" in MentionFox is any brand you want to monitor. If you are monitoring your own company, add it as a client here. Agencies should add their first client account. Enter the client name and domain, and MentionFox will run brand enrichment to build a rich profile including competitors, industry context, and key personnel.
Set the keywords and phrases MentionFox should watch for. The wizard suggests keywords based on the client profile: brand name, product names, key people, and common misspellings. You can add custom keywords like competitor names or industry terms. These keywords drive all future scans.
Select which platforms to scan. MentionFox covers 50+ sources including Reddit, X/Twitter, Quora, Hacker News, Product Hunt, G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, YouTube, news sites, forums, and more. Start with the platforms most relevant to your industry and expand later.
Review your configuration and hit Launch Scan. MentionFox will immediately begin searching your selected platforms for your keywords. Results typically start appearing within 30 seconds. You will be taken to the Mentions view where results stream in live.
