Outfoxer (Competitive Intel)
Outfoxer is MentionFox's competitive intelligence engine. When a Dealflow lead mentions a competitor -- either in their original post or in their enriched profile -- Outfoxer automatically generates a head-to-head comparison so you know exactly how to position your product.
What Outfoxer Shows
- Comparison card -- a side-by-side feature matrix of your product versus the detected competitor.
- Your advantages -- features or capabilities where you clearly win.
- Their advantages -- areas where the competitor is stronger (honesty builds trust).
- Switching triggers -- common reasons customers leave that competitor, sourced from public reviews and forum complaints.
- Battle-tested responses -- proven rebuttals to "but [Competitor] has X" objections.
How Outfoxer Detects Competitors
Outfoxer identifies competitors from multiple signals:
- Direct mentions in the lead's social posts ("we currently use Brand24").
- Tech stack data from the lead's company website (built-with detection).
- Review site activity (if the lead reviewed a competitor on G2 or Capterra).
- Job postings at the lead's company that reference specific tools.
Accessing Outfoxer
- Open a lead in Dealflow.
- Click the Outfoxer tab in the lead detail drawer.
- If a competitor has been detected, the comparison card loads automatically.
- If no competitor was detected, you can manually select one from your monitored competitors list.
Tip: Before a sales call, spend 2 minutes reviewing the Outfoxer card. Knowing the lead's current tool and its weaknesses lets you steer the conversation toward your strengths without sounding scripted.
Keeping Comparisons Current
Competitor products change. Outfoxer pulls from your Sales Arsenal data, which is refreshed whenever you run brand enrichment on a competitor. If a comparison feels outdated, re-enrich the competitor client in your War Room to get fresh data flowing into Outfoxer.
